Learn how to take better pictures of horses

Would you like to improve your equine photography so that you can take better pictures of your own horse? I offer horse photography training designed to help you improve your equine photography skills:

1. One-to-one equine photography workshops

A bespoke, one day course designed around what you'd like to achieve with your horse photography. This is for photographers with any experience level - from beginners just starting to learn all the way up to professionals who would like to add equine photography to their repetoire - and it will be created to meet your requirements. This workshop can cover any area of equine photography, for example:

  • camera settings and lenses  for different styles of equine photography
  • composition
  • how to work with natural light and how to make the most of any lighting situation
  • working with flash and how to position lights to create the look that you want
  • how to spot good locations for horse photography, both for portraits and action shots
  • posing techniques for horses
  • working with confidence around horses
  • developing your own equine photography style
  • reviewing your existing porfolio.

You choose what you'd like to learn - the session will be structured around what you want to know. Individual photography tuition enables you to learn at your own pace and have plenty of time to ask as many questions as you like. These sessions are offered throughout the year at a time to suit you.

A full day course aimed at improving your equine photography. The morning session will cover how to compose beautiful equine images, how to capture the best gaits of the horse, working confidently around horses, working with natural light and making the most of different lighting situations, backgrounds and posing techniques.  After lunch (which is provided) participants will have the opportunity to put their new knowledge into practice with a guided photoshoot, working with a number of gorgeous horses.
